ST. JOSEPH-OGDEN GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Coach Kristin Allen’s state-ranked Spartans placed five runners among the top 25 and won team honors in the Cumberland Invitational. Alyssa Pridemore (fourth) was the team leader, followed by Keely Smith (10th), Emma Melchior (13th), Abby Fisher (19th) and Abby Gawthorp (23rd).

CISSNA PARK VOLLEYBALL

Coach Josh Landon’s Timberwolves (16-6-2) ended Watseka’s season-long winning streak at 27 matches, beating the Warriors in straight sets, 25-19, 25-20. Hillary Hines had seven kills and five blocks. Anna Kaeb had 20 assists and teammate Addy Stoller had seven digs.

UNITY FOOTBALL

For the second time in three weeks, coach Scott Hamilton’s Rockets posted a shutout. The most recent was one was the most significant, coming against previously unbeaten and eighth-ranked (Class 3A) Monticello. The Sages were limited to 148 yards total offense.

ST. THOMAS MORE BOYS’ GOLF

Coach Mark Tate’s Sabers had three of the top five individuals and garnered a regional championship at Tuscola. Junior Christopher Tate and sophomore Tyler Vodacek tied for second and senior Jesse Dankle tied for fourth. Junior Wes Kramer was the team’s other scorer.
